7. Contract description: The objective is to provide a bankable
technical, financial, environmental and institutional feasibility study
for the rehabilitation and extension of the M3 road
Chisinau–Giurgiulesti/Romanian Border (217,21 km). The project will
provide the following results:
— identification of transport needs, including traffic surveys and traffic
forecasts,
— assessment of technical, environmental, financial and economic
feasibility as well as institutional sustainability of the road
rehabilitation and extension,
— detailed technical surveys and engineering design,
— coordination with IFIs is ensured and provision of tender documents for
the rehabilitation of 1 or 2 priority sections chosen based on the
feasibility study.
8. Indicative budget: EUR 750 000.
9. Intended timing of publication of the procurement notice: 3rd quarter
of 2007.

11. Legal basis: Council Regulation (EC, Euratom) No 99/2000 of
29.12.1999 concerning the provision of assistance to the partner States in
Eastern Europe and Central Asia, as amended by Council Regulation (EC) No
