European Development Fund, Executive Secretary, SADC Secretariat, Private
Bag 0095, Gaborone, Botswana.
6. Contract description: To deliver a total of maximum 5 000 000 doses of
FMD vaccine to the National Animal Health Authority/ies of the relevant
country/ies within the time-frame of 1.6.2008–31.7.2010 in up to 12
separate consignments. Technical requirements of FMD vaccines are based on
the specifications for FMD vaccines contained in the most recent editions
of the OlE's (World Organization for Animal Health) Manual for Diagnostic
Tests and Vaccines (terrestrial animals) and the European Pharmacopoeia.
The exact details on the quantity for each consignment and the address for
delivery as well as any other special conditions related to delivery will
be provided in writing to the supplier at least 90 days prior to the due
date. Only vaccines produced using conventional BHK21 cell cultures and
inactivated with an aziridine compound will be accepted. Each dose of
vaccine will contain non-infectious antigens against three serotypes of
FMD virus, viz. either SAT1, SAT2 and SAT3 or SAT1, SAT2 and O. The
required composition of each consignment will be conveyed to the supplier
in writing at least 90 days prior to the prescribed delivery date.
7. Indicative number and titles of lots: One lot in up to 12 separate
consignments.
