The Ministry of Water Resources has received a financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Additional Financing- Emergency Community Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project (AF-ECIRP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Procurement of Eleven Hydraulic Excavators. The Ministry of Water Resources now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Contract No. G2-ICB-01/08 Supplying eleven hydraulic excavators with spare parts to Nassiriya/ Dhi-Qar Governorate / Iraq. The delivery period is two hundred forty days.

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents from the PMT in the Ministry of Water Resources at the address below during office hours (Sunday to Thursday,09:00 to 14:00 hours). A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of IQD 150,000 (one hundred fifty thousand Iraqi Dinars). The method of payment will be cash or cashier‘s check. The document can only be received in person by the bidder or his authorized representative at the address below.

Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 11.00 AM on August 13, 2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend, at the address below at 11.00 AM on August 13, 2008. All bids must accompanied by bid security of US$ 50,000 (fifty thousands US$).
