This invitation for bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business on-line on August 11, 2006.

The Republic of Armenia has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Avian Influenza Preparedness Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract No. AIPP PG-08/023 (Procurement of Veterinary Lab Equipment).

The Agricultural Reform Support Project Implementation Unit State Institution (ARSPIU SI) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the procurement of Veterinary Lab Equipment in one lot: Trichinella examination equipment (quantity: 2), Ceramic Top Hotplate/Magnetic stirrer (quantity: 2), Glassware for trichinella detection method (quantity: 4), Compound Microscope (quantity: 2), Incubator microbiological (quantity: 2), Autoclave (quantity: 2), Refrigerator (quantity: 2), Water bath (quantity: 2), Balance electronic (quantity: 2), Dry sterilizer (quantity: 2), Starting material set of antibiotic sensitivity disk kits (quantity: 16), Laboratory coats (quantity: 12), Laboratory Benches & chests of drawers (quantity: 4), Autopsy table (quantity: 2), Microbiological Safety Cabinet (quantity: 2), Glassware set (quantity: 4), Vortexer (quantity: 2), Water Distillation system (quantity: 2), Boiler (quantity: 3), Water Tank (quantity: 3), Microplate Reader for ELISA test kits (quantity: 3), Microplate Washer (quantity: 3), Table centrifuge (quantity: 3), Shaker (quantity: 3), Electric saw (quantity: 3). Total: 25 items of equipment, quantity 87 units.
The delivery period is 2 (two) months. Bids for the lot must be complete. Incomplete bids will be rejected. Evaluation of bids will be done on a per-lot basis.
Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (May 2004), and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the ARSPIU SI at the address below from 09.00 to 17.00 (local time). A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of US$120.00. The method of payment will be direct deposit to ARSPIU SI account No. 001-162965-105 (USD) with HSBC Bank Armenia CJSC (SWIFT Code: MIDLAM22), 9, V. Sargsyan Street, 0010, Yerevan, Armenia. The document will be send by courier services.
Bids must be delivered to the address below by 17.00 (local time GMT + 04.00) on July 25, 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of US$ 4000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 17.00 (local time, GMT + 04.00) on July 25, 2008.
