Expressions of interest

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received financing from International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Urban Water Supply & Sanitation Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds to procure consultancy Service for Operations Expert Technical Assistance and Commercial and Financial Expert Technical Assistance.

The main objective of the consultancy services are to:

• Design and implement a leak reduction plan for the City of Addis Ababa, including M&E Indicators
• Design and implement a treatment plant efficiency improvement plan, including M&E Indicators.
• Design and implement a laboratory improvement plan, including M & E indicators. Provide training and Technology transfer for the above. Understand the daily production of each well.
• Provide Expert Advice to Finance and Commercial Department Heads.
• Provide design for management reporting IT system. Coordinate with Water III planning.

The general areas of expertise include, but not limited to:

• Operations Expert Technical Assistances
• Commercial Experts
• Finance Experts

The AAWSA- Water and Sanitation Development and Rehabilitation Project Office now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. The consultancy service invites all interested International/Regional qualified experts.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004 edition revised October 1, 2006).

Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours from 8: 30 till 17:30 hours local time.
